Reporting a playback problem? Send it from the app instead: Settings › About › Send Feedback attaches Reelhouse’s playback logs, so we can see what went wrong. The Privacy page lists exactly what a report contains.

Common questions

What do I need to use Reelhouse?

An Apple TV running tvOS 26 or later, a Plex account, and a Plex Media Server with your movies and shows on it. Reelhouse plays your own library; it isn’t a streaming service.

How do I get the beta?

Reelhouse is in beta on TestFlight. Email us for an invite, then open the link in the TestFlight app on your Apple TV.

Is Reelhouse made by Plex?

No. Reelhouse is an independent app from Ember Studios that signs in with your Plex account. It isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Plex, Inc.

How do I turn on Volume Levelling?

Go to Settings › Playback and turn on Volume Levelling (Beta). Reelhouse uses your server’s loudness analysis when it has one, and otherwise measures upcoming episodes in the background while you browse.

A title stutters or won’t start. What should I try?

Check Settings › Quality & Connection: Connection Speed tests the link to your server, and a lower Video Quality helps on slow networks.

If it still happens, use Send Feedback in Settings › About right after it fails, so the logs include the problem.

Voices don’t match lips.

Open Settings › Playback › Audio Sync. You can nudge the audio earlier or later, or run the guided calibration.
